Public Procurement

This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the public procurement framework, focusing on the scope and application of the Public Procurement Act, its regulations, procedures, and supporting legislation. Participants will gain insight into the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders in the procurement process, including the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), procuring entities, oversight bodies, and the private sector. The course explores strategic procurement planning, highlighting its inputs, outputs, and benefits in achieving value for money and organizational objectives. It also examines approved procurement methods, tender documentation requirements, evaluation criteria, and contract award processes. In addition, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of electronic procurement systems and their role in enhancing efficiency, transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in public procurement.
